The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several districts on Friday under the influence of a low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining the Odisha and West Bengal coasts. According to Managing Director Prakhar Jain, a trough extending from Coastal Andhra through Telangana to Maharashtra is supporting the prevailing weather conditions.
Districts including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, and Anantapur are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by rain. Gusty winds of up to 50 kmph are also expected, and authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, especially in vulnerable areas.
