Lokesh Invites Kia to Expand EV and Hybrid Manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh met Kia Motors Executive Vice President (Global Operations) Tae Hun Lee and the company's senior leadership in Seoul, South Korea. During the meeting, Lokesh invited Kia to expand its operations in Andhra Pradesh by establishing an integrated manufacturing hub for EVs, hybrid vehicles, and Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) models.

He also proposed setting up a CKD assembly and export centre near Visakhapatnam Port, an EV components manufacturing facility for batteries and charging electronics, and a dedicated EV powertrain testing and vehicle homologation centre. Kia Motors acknowledged the proposals and stated that the company would discuss them internally before taking a final decision.
