Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh said the state aims to develop a model that can showcase India’s growth story to the world, with Amaravati playing a key role in that vision. Speaking at the Pan-IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 in Vijayawada, Lokesh said the government is working with the goal of making Andhra Pradesh a leader across sectors and sought guidance and support from IIT alumni, academics and industry leaders.
Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh is developing 23 sector-specific clusters to attract investments and promote innovation and industrial growth. These clusters cover areas ranging from agriculture and horticulture to AI, quantum technology, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy and data centres. He said India could reach developed-nation levels over the coming decade and expressed his intention for Andhra Pradesh to play a leading role in that journey.
