US President Donald Trump has mocked the ongoing unrest in France, making sarcastic remarks about the country’s history of revolutions. As protests and clashes spread across several French cities, Trump joked, “Let’s go to France and join the revolution,” drawing attention to the unrest gripping the European nation.
News reports said Trump made the remark while referring to a hypothetical situation in which Americans received a $5,000 payment and could travel to France. The demonstrations in France have been driven by concerns over the rising cost of living, public services and issues in the education sector. While many protests were peaceful, some escalated into violence, prompting clashes between demonstrators and police.
