Large-Scale Ganesh Idol Immersion in Hyderabad

Sanitation operations are continuing across Hyderabad following the large-scale immersion of Ganesh idols. Around 3.10 lakh Ganesh idols were immersed across Greater Hyderabad, including nearly 66,000 idols in Hussain Sagar. Officials said the number of idols immersed this year increased by 10% compared with last year. Personnel are also removing immersed idols from Hussain Sagar and other water bodies across the city.

Meanwhile, the GHMC has intensified its sanitation drive along immersion routes. Workers are clearing accumulated garbage and waste from roads around Hussain Sagar and other major immersion routes. GHMC personnel collected around 6,000 metric tonnes of waste in the last two days. Across the limits of the three municipal corporations, a total of 13,000 metric tonnes of waste has been collected so far, officials said.
