The Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) has raised objections to Telangana’s use of Srisailam reservoir water for power generation and issued key directions regarding the utilization of Krishna waters. The board has instructed Telangana to use the water strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
KRMB has directed that the use of Srisailam water for power generation be stopped immediately and stressed that drinking water should be given the highest priority. The directions come amid ongoing discussions over the allocation and utilization of Krishna river waters between the two Telugu states.
