Konda Surekha Writes to Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Over Political Marginalisation

Konda Surekha has reportedly written letters to senior Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal and Meenakshi Natarajan, raising concerns over what she calls political suppression and administrative marginalisation. According to the details of the letters, sent on August 22 and 23, Surekha alleged that key decisions concerning her departments were being taken without consulting her and that direct instructions were being issued from the Chief Minister’s Office. She also claimed that her role as a minister was gradually being reduced to a nominal position.

Surekha reportedly cited several specific instances, including the formation of the Yadadri temple trust board, the transfer of funds meant for the Sammakka-Saralamma temple development, and the removal of her photograph from government advertisements issued during Sri Rama Navami. She also raised concerns over the removal and arrest-related developments involving her former OSD Sumant, as well as alleged discrimination in development works in the Warangal East constituency. Surekha further objected to being issued a show-cause notice over remarks made by her adult daughter Susmitha Patel, arguing that she should not be held responsible for another adult’s personal views. She urged the Congress leadership to examine the allegations, speak with the state leadership and ensure justice, stating that her intention was to protect her 31-year association with the party. She also reportedly submitted a pen drive containing videos and other supporting material along with the letters.
