The Andhra Pradesh High Court granted interim relief to former minister Kodali Nani by staying the prosecution approved by the state government in a case registered against him in Gudivada. The court also directed the authorities not to take any coercive action against him until further orders.
The case dates back to February 16, 2021, when Kodali Nani was booked following directions from the State Election Commission. It was alleged that, during the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the local body elections in February 2021, he made objectionable remarks against N. Chandrababu Naidu and former State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The High Court has now stayed further proceedings related to the prosecution.
