Telangana is making preparations to host the Khelo India Youth Games on a large scale from December 11 to 22. The sporting event will be conducted across six cities and will feature competitions in 27 disciplines. More than 7,500 athletes are expected to take part, providing young sportspersons an opportunity to compete at a major national-level platform.
Water sports competitions at Hussain Sagar are expected to be one of the key attractions of the event. The state is also focusing on developing sports infrastructure and nurturing young talent through its sports policy. The broader objective is to create a strong sporting ecosystem in Telangana and support athletes with the long-term ambition of winning medals at the Olympic Games.
