Key Step in Electoral Roll Revision

The process of issuing notices to voters has begun across the state as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Election officials will conduct verification hearings for voters who receive notices from August 27 to September 20. The Chief Electoral Officer’s office has directed officials to complete the generation and printing of notices by August 31 and ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been instructed to clearly inform voters about the reason for the notice, hearing date, venue and documents required. Voters can submit documents through the voter portal, BLO app or directly during the hearing. Hearings are to be conducted at gram panchayat buildings or ward offices. Village and ward meetings will also be held on August 27 to read out the draft electoral rolls and announce details of ASDD voters those untraceable, shifted, deceased or duplicated. Special cells will be established at DEO offices to handle appeals.
