Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is likely to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis within the next week to ten days. According to Maharashtra Irrigation Advisor Vedire Sriram, the meeting has been finalized. The two leaders are expected to discuss key inter state water issues, particularly the utilization of Godavari river waters and matters related to the Tummidi Hatti project.
Earlier, Revanth Reddy had written to Fadnavis, stating that increasing the height of the Tummidi Hatti project would have minimal submergence impact on Maharashtra. The project is expected to meet the water needs of the erstwhile Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Medak districts. The meeting is also likely to focus on Godavari water diversion and the acquisition of nearly 2,000 acres of land required for the project.
