Key Resolutions by the INDIA Bloc

The INDIA bloc has announced a series of programmes as part of its planned nationwide agitation. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said the alliance will organise a ‘Save Democracy’ March from October 2 to 8, with marches to be held at district headquarters across the country. He also said protests would be organised outside collectorates. On October 6, opposition MPs from the alliance are scheduled to march together to the Election Commission headquarters in Delhi.

Kharge said the INDIA bloc plans to meet the President in the second week of October to raise issues related to the electoral process. He alleged that the Election Commission was being influenced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The alliance has also decided to hold five major public meetings across the country, with a large rally scheduled in Delhi on November 1. The announcements come amid the bloc’s ongoing political campaign over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and its concerns regarding the functioning of the Election Commission.
