The Health Department has begun precautionary measures ahead of the Tirumala Srivari Brahmotsavam celebrations. Officials held a special meeting with local hotel and fast-food outlet operators and stressed the importance of maintaining hygiene and protecting the health of devotees visiting Tirumala.
Officials advised food establishments to ensure that food and drinking water remain clean and hygienic at all times. They also asked hotel and fast-food operators to cooperate with TTD authorities and take necessary preventive measures to avoid complaints during the festival.
The TTD has temporarily banned cauliflower, commonly known as gobi, at hotels and fast-food outlets in Tirumala. Officials said worms had recently been found in cauliflower at some shops, prompting the decision. The ban will remain in place for two months, after which the situation will be reviewed and a further decision will be announced. The Srivari Brahmotsavam celebrations are scheduled to begin on September 15.
