Key Instructions from Sudarshan Reddy on the SIR Process

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy said notices had been served to 60 per cent of voters across the state as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He said the process would be completed by the end of the month. On Friday, Reddy visited Alampally, Shivarampet and Tandur in Vikarabad along with District Collector Deepak Tiwari. He directed officials to complete the SIR process in the district strictly in accordance with election guidelines and without errors. He also reviewed the number of notices already issued and those yet to be served with Booth Level Officers.

Later, Reddy reviewed the progress of the process with Electoral Registration Officers and tehsildars at the Collectorate meeting hall. He directed officials to take adequate care to ensure that no eligible voter’s name was removed from the electoral rolls. He also asked officials to hold meetings with political representatives and complete every stage of the revision process effectively. Earlier, he received a police guard of honour at the Collectorate. Additional Collector Venkatachari, Training Collector Sachin Baswaraj Guttur, DSP Anjaiah, DRO Swarnalatha, RDOs Vasuchandra and Anita, municipal commissioners of Vikarabad, Pargi and Kodangal, and election officials attended the meeting.
