Key Changes in JEE Advanced

The JEE Advanced examination could undergo a major change, with the IIT Council exploring an adaptive testing system that adjusts question difficulty according to a student’s performance. An expert committee has been proposed to examine the feasibility of the system and assess its impact on students and the examination process.

Under the proposed model, the difficulty level of subsequent questions could be adjusted based on a candidate’s responses. The IIT Council has also recommended developing a tool capable of dynamically generating questions of varying difficulty levels. The move is aimed at reducing dependence on coaching-based preparation while giving greater importance to critical thinking and reasoning skills.
