Key Advisory for Mumbai Local Passengers

Central Railway will conduct an intensive ticket-checking drive across its stations and trains from October 1 to October 31, 2026. The month-long exercise will focus on verifying the validity and authenticity of tickets, with particular attention to concession tickets, specified reservation quotas and railway passes. Passengers travelling under concessions or specified quotas have been advised to carry the prescribed original identity and eligibility documents during their journey.

For tickets booked for multiple passengers, at least one passenger listed on the ticket must carry the required original identity proof. If the prescribed document is not produced, all passengers travelling on that ticket may be treated as travelling without a valid ticket under applicable rules. Railway employees and their family members travelling on E-Pass or PTO must also carry the required original documents and ensure that the pass is converted into the prescribed authority to travel before beginning the journey. Unreserved tickets will also receive additional scrutiny, with ticket-checking staff using the TTE App wherever required to verify their authenticity. The drive aims to curb misuse of tickets, concessions and passes and prevent revenue leakage.
