Kerala has ordered a fresh Vigilance inquiry into allegations connected to a 2006 road project, dating back to the period when Gyanesh Kumar was serving as the state’s Public Works Department Secretary. The case is linked to the Kerala State Transport Project and also involves the death of a Malaysian contractor associated with the project. The government has now directed Vigilance authorities to revisit the allegations and examine the circumstances surrounding the case.
The fresh inquiry will also look into whether the matter was properly investigated during the earlier probe. Officials will examine the available evidence and determine whether any further action is required. At this stage, the development remains an investigation into allegations and past events, and no wrongdoing has been established against Gyanesh Kumar or any other individual. The final outcome will depend on the evidence and findings of the inquiry.
