Heavy rains continue to lash several parts of Kerala, prompting the India Meteorological Department to issue a red alert for Wayanad and Kozhikode districts. Orange alerts remain in force for Kannur and Kasaragod, while Idukki, Thrissur and Palakkad are under a yellow alert as authorities monitor the weather situation closely.
A landslide in Wayanad claimed the lives of two people, while six others remain missing. Six injured victims have been admitted to hospital for treatment. During the rescue operation, the Meppadi Sub-Inspector sustained serious injuries. Rescue teams continue search operations amid challenging weather conditions.
