

The hundi collection at Sri Swayambhu Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple in Kanipakam, Chittoor district, has registered a substantial income. During the hundi counting conducted for 26 days, the temple received Rs 2,33,34,358, temple EO Penchala Kishore said. Devotees also offered 41 grams of gold and 1.105 kg of silver to the deity.
The Go Protection Hundi collected Rs 21,495, while the Nitya Annadanam Hundi received Rs 1,59,461 and the Bhikshandi Hundi collected Rs 23,215. Foreign currencies found in the hundi included 206 US dollars, 155 UAE dirhams, 20 Australian dollars, 25 Canadian dollars, 45 British pounds, 52 Malaysian ringgits and 110 euros. The counting was conducted in the presence of temple chairman Mani Naidu, trust board members, officials, staff and volunteers.
