Police in YSR Kadapa district are conducting an extensive public awareness campaign ahead of the nomination process for local body elections. On the instructions of District Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath, IPS, police personnel are using public-address systems to inform residents about election rules and prohibitory orders. They are explaining the restrictions imposed under Section 144 and Police Act Section 30 to maintain law and order around nomination centres. People have been advised not to organise public meetings, gatherings or processions without the required permission.
Officials have appealed to the public to follow election regulations and cooperate with the police to ensure that the nomination process proceeds peacefully and smoothly. Residents have been warned against assembling in violation of the restrictions or engaging in activities that could disturb public order. Police have also cautioned that legal action will be taken against those who violate election rules. The awareness campaign is part of preventive measures to maintain peace and avoid untoward incidents during the election process.
