Junior Doctors’ Strike in Andhra Pradesh

The strike by junior doctors in Andhra Pradesh is set to intensify, with the doctors reportedly deciding to boycott emergency medical services from tomorrow. The state government has stepped up preparations to ensure that healthcare services are not disrupted. Authorities have directed that in-service doctors and postgraduate doctors from private medical colleges be deployed to maintain essential services at government hospitals.

The government is also planning to utilise doctors from secondary hospitals wherever required. Special measures are being taken to ensure uninterrupted services in emergency departments, casualty wards and intensive care units. Officials are making arrangements to keep adequate medical staff available at government hospitals and minimise inconvenience to patients amid the ongoing junior doctors’ strike.
