Japan’s Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, shared his spiritual experience during his visit to Rishikesh on social media. He took three holy dips in the Ganga and said the experience filled him with a deep sense of devotion and gratitude. Reflecting on his Janmashtami weekend, Ono said being among people who continue to follow centuries-old Indian beliefs and traditions gave him a strong spiritual connection. He also participated in the Ganga Aarti and lit a traditional clay lamp on the riverbank.
Ono Keiichi has previously expressed his appreciation for Indian culture and cuisine as well. Since taking charge as Japan’s Ambassador to India, he has shared several experiences from his travels across the country. During an earlier visit to Delhi, he enjoyed biryani with his hands and praised the traditional way of eating it. In Bihar, he tasted litti chokha and appreciated it in Bhojpuri, saying “Gajab Swad Ba,” meaning “amazing taste.”
