

Chief Minister Chandrababu has directed officials to implement the Jaladhara–Jalaharathi program as a continuous initiative. In view of the intensified El Niño impact, he stressed the need to focus on water conservation, drinking water supply, and crop protection. During a review meeting held via video conference, officials informed that out of 82,865 identified works, 79,826 have been completed, with projects worth Rs. 3,409.35 crore sanctioned.
Officials also highlighted that rainfall is expected to be 39 percent below normal this year. Current water storage stands at 563.05 TMCs compared to 825.67 TMCs last year. The Chief Minister instructed authorities to ensure adequate drinking water storage in reservoirs and prepare supply plans through Nagarjuna Sagar canals to meet regional needs.
