ISRO Gears Up for GSLV-F17 Mission

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is gearing up for another significant space mission from Sriharikota. Scientists are preparing to launch a 2,367-kg Earth observation satellite aboard the GSLV-F17 rocket from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The launch is planned for September 4 at 2:55 am, subject to the completion of the final review and authorisation procedures.

The three-stage GSLV-F17 has reportedly completed the integration of all three stages and has been moved to the launch pad. The 50.9-metre-tall rocket weighs around 420.7 tonnes. A Mission Readiness Review is scheduled at SHAR on September 1, following which the Launch Authorisation Board is expected to finalise the launch schedule. If successful, the mission will mark another important achievement for India’s indigenous space technology and further showcase ISRO’s growing capabilities.
