Tensions in West Asia have escalated once again as Israel launched massive air strikes on several areas in southern and eastern Lebanon. According to reports, at least 31 people were killed in the attacks. Israel stated that the strikes targeted Hezbollah military bases, but Lebanese authorities claimed that many civilians were among the victims. The attacks caused panic across Beirut and nearby border villages.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that large scale ground operations would soon begin along the Lebanon border to eliminate Hezbollah forces completely. He said the safety of Israeli citizens remains the government’s top priority. Reports indicate that more than 3,200 people have lost their lives in Lebanon due to Israeli attacks since March this year.
