BRS leader and former minister Harish Rao strongly criticized the state government over alleged land encroachments in Nadargul village of Balapur mandal, Rangareddy district. Hundreds of farmers approached him seeking protection from real estate groups who are allegedly occupying 373 acres of government land worth thousands of crores. The farmers presented evidence, including photos and videos of damaged borewells and injuries caused during attacks. Responding immediately, Harish Rao contacted officials and demanded strict action against the encroachers.
Speaking on the issue, Harish Rao recalled that the previous BRS government under KCR had fought legal battles up to the High Court to protect these lands under the Land Ceiling Act. He alleged that despite the current government affirming in the Supreme Court that the land belongs to the state, attempts are being made to hand it over to private entities with political backing. He questioned the role of HYDRA, asking whether it is only targeting poor households while ignoring large-scale encroachments by influential real estate groups.
