The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TSCB), an agency responsible for preventing cybercrime and ensuring digital safety, has reportedly had its official X (formerly Twitter) account hacked. The incident, which occurred on May 22, has raised serious concerns as officials allegedly failed to detect the breach for nearly 20 days.
The bureau, once recognized as one of India’s leading cyber security institutions, is known for handling major cybercrime cases and receiving national-level recognition. The fact that its own social media account was compromised has triggered questions over its internal security systems and monitoring mechanisms.
Following the incident becoming public, authorities have reportedly become alert and initiated an inquiry into how the hack occurred and what security lapses led to it. Cyber experts and the public are questioning how an agency responsible for cyber safety failed to secure its own digital platform.
