The Karnataka Home Department has identified 13,675 foreign nationals allegedly residing illegally across the state during a verification drive. Bengaluru accounted for the highest number of cases with 10,652 individuals, making the city the largest concentration of such cases in Karnataka.
According to official data, Mysuru recorded 1,155 cases, followed by Mangaluru (431), Belagavi (234), Shivamogga (171), and Hubballi-Dharwad (148). The verification exercise is being conducted in coordination with the police, FRRO, and other agencies. Authorities said legal action, including deportation wherever applicable, will be initiated after verification.
