Iranian officials have said that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is expected to make his first public appearance since assuming office by attending and hosting a memorial ceremony for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran on July 23. The event is scheduled to take place between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with several senior political and religious leaders expected to be in attendance.
According to the information released, Mojtaba Khamenei has remained away from public events due to security concerns and reportedly did not attend his father's funeral. He was also absent from his wife's funeral held two weeks ago. Reports suggest he has been recovering from injuries sustained in an earlier attack in which one of his daughters was reportedly killed. In recent social media posts, he has strongly condemned attacks on Iran and vowed to avenge his father's death.
