Amid continuing tensions between the United States and Iran, Iran has once again turned to Telugu cinema to convey a message. Earlier, Iran’s Embassy in Zimbabwe shared an action sequence from Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Bhagavanth Kesari’. More recently, the Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad shared a clip from Prabhas-starrer ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’, featuring Amarendra Baahubali battling the Kalakeya army.
The consulate linked the film’s battle sequence to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s address at the United Nations General Assembly. The message emphasised that Iran would not bow to external pressure and connected Baahubali’s resistance against the Kalakeya army with Iran’s stated position. The post said Iran was prepared to make sacrifices for its homeland while standing firm on its position.
