Insurance for Tirumala Devotees - TTD

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is making extensive arrangements for the annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara. The annual Brahmotsavams will be held from September 15 to 23, followed by the Navaratri Brahmotsavams from October 12. At its recent governing council meeting, the TTD took several key decisions focusing on devotees’ convenience, employee welfare and environmental protection. The accident insurance cover for devotees and employees has been increased from ₹3 lakh to ₹10 lakh, with two insurance schemes to be implemented in association with LIC. The board also approved salary hikes for employees across 48 categories.

To meet the expected demand during the festivities, TTD is preparing a buffer stock of 10 lakh laddus and has sought government approval to recruit 400 additional workers for the Potu. A biogas project using wet waste collected from hotels in Tirumala is also being taken up, with the gas to be supplied to the Nityannaprasadam complex for cooking. Cultural groups from 25 states, along with artists from Singapore and Japan, will participate in the celebrations. A total of 5,600 personnel, including 3,000 police officers, will be deployed for security. The Chief Minister is scheduled to offer silk robes to Lord Venkateswara on September 15, while special arrangements are being made to manage the expected surge in devotees during Garuda Seva.
