An alleged attempted sexual assault on an IndiGo employee by a cab driver near Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has triggered concern over employee safety. According to police, the woman was travelling in a company-arranged cab for her night shift when the driver allegedly diverted the vehicle to an isolated area near Shamshabad Airport and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim resisted strongly, forcing the accused to flee the scene.
The woman later approached the Shamshabad Airport Outpost Police and lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, police registered a case and launched a search to trace and arrest the accused. Following the incident, airport authorities conducted a review meeting to assess the safety and transportation arrangements for employees, particularly those travelling during night shifts.
