

Indian students have once again showcased their excellence on the global stage by securing five gold medals at the 56th International Physics Olympiad held in Colombia. With this remarkable achievement, India jointly secured the world number one position, marking a historic milestone. The prestigious competition, conducted from July 4 to 12, witnessed participation from 381 students representing 87 countries.
The Indian team, comprising students from Pune, Indore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad, delivered an outstanding performance by winning gold medals in all five entries. The team was trained and guided by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education under the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. Officials stated that this success reflects the scientific talent of Indian students and is expected to inspire more young minds to pursue physics and participate in international Olympiads.
