An Indian woman named Vanitha, who is working as a domestic helper in Kuwait, has alleged that she is being severely harassed and has not been paid her salary for the past two months. In a video that went viral on social media, she identified herself as a resident of Kallakurichi district in Tamil Nadu and said she had been in Kuwait for three months. She appealed to the district collector and police officials to rescue her from the alleged harassment and bring her back to India.
The video reached Tamil Nadu authorities, who confirmed that Vanitha was from Kallakurichi and informed her family about the situation. Her mother alleged that an agent had deceived her daughter by arranging the job in Kuwait. She appealed to the authorities to bring Vanitha home safely, saying her daughter had gone abroad hoping to work as a domestic helper but was now facing severe harassment. Police officials said efforts were underway to bring her back to India. The visuals of Vanitha pleading for help with folded hands inside a dark room have deeply disturbed viewers.
