Indian Railways has introduced changes to its official logo following the formation of the South Coast Railway Zone headquartered in Visakhapatnam. In the railway logo, red stars are used as symbols representing each railway zone across the country. With the addition of the new zone, one more star has now been included in the emblem.
The South Coast Railway Zone will officially come into effect from June 1 as the 18th railway zone in India. In view of this development, the Railway Board has released a new logo featuring 18 stars. The updated emblem is being seen as a symbolic recognition of the newly formed Visakhapatnam-based railway zone.
