The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has urged Indian citizens in Saudi Arabia to remain alert amid reports of heightened tensions in the region. In its latest advisory, the embassy advised people to move to safe locations immediately in the event of an airstrike and stay away from windows if they are indoors. Citizens have also been instructed not to photograph or record incidents related to the situation or share such images and videos with others. The embassy said its officials are visiting hospitals treating injured Indian nationals and maintaining contact with their families to provide necessary assistance.
According to the information provided in the advisory, flight operations at Riyadh International Airport have been disrupted, while airports in Dammam, Jeddah and Madinah are operating despite some interruptions. Indian airlines have temporarily suspended services to Saudi Arabia, with Air India, Air India Express and IndiGo suspensions reported until October 24, and Akasa Air until October 27. Limited flights are reportedly operating from India to Dammam, Jeddah and Madinah. Those travelling urgently may consider routes through Bahrain, Kuwait or Qatar, subject to current travel conditions. Indian citizens planning to travel for Umrah are advised to consider possible airport disruptions and cancellations before making arrangements. The embassy has also said that its control room and the Indian Consulate can be contacted at any time during emergencies.
