Indian Army Set to Get More Powerful with Indigenous Drones!

The Indian Army has reportedly signed a ₹1,577 crore agreement with Tata Advanced Systems and Nibe Defence for the procurement of 840 long-range attack drones. These indigenously developed systems are designed to engage targets located more than 100 kilometres away with high precision. The drones are also reportedly equipped to operate in environments where enemy electronic interference could pose a challenge.

The induction of these drones is expected to significantly strengthen the Army’s long-range strike capabilities and allow it to engage targets from considerable distances. The entire order is planned for delivery within the next 12 months. Besides enhancing operational preparedness, the agreement is expected to provide a major boost to India’s domestic defence manufacturing ecosystem and indigenous military technology.
