India Will Not Compromise on National Security - Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that India will not compromise on national security and will continue to respond to terrorism. Speaking at the NDTV Defence Summit 2026 on Sunday, he said India has always sought peace and does not want war or the territory of another country. However, he stressed that India’s desire for peace should not be mistaken for weakness.

Singh said that if a neighbouring country continues to promote terrorism against India, the country will remain prepared to take action against terrorists. He emphasised that the government’s approach to national security includes strengthening defence capabilities while pursuing peace through diplomacy. His remarks come amid a renewed focus on counter-terrorism and defence preparedness at the Defence Summit.
