The India Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next three days due to a low-pressure system formed over the northwest and west-central Bay of Bengal. Heavy rains are likely in the erstwhile districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Khammam, while southern and central Telangana regions may receive light to moderate rainfall. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious.
In Andhra Pradesh, the low-pressure system has developed over coastal areas adjoining north Odisha and West Bengal, according to AP Disaster Management Managing Director Prakhar Jain. The system is expected to intensify over the next two to three days. Winds with speeds of 40–50 kmph are likely, along with thunderstorms. Light to moderate rains with lightning are expected in districts such as Srikakulam, Polavaram, Konaseema, West Godavari, and Eluru, while other regions may also witness scattered rainfall.
