The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across several parts of the country over the next three to four days due to the active southwest monsoon. Northern, eastern, and northeastern states are expected to receive widespread showers, while Gujarat and Maharashtra are likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall during this period.
The weather agency has also predicted heavy rainfall in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh. Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to stay alert, follow official weather updates, and take necessary precautions as intense rainfall may lead to waterlogging, flooding, and travel disruptions in several regions.
