On December 23, 2019, during the YSRCP government, a key portion of land inside Kadapa RIMS was allotted to a charitable trust run by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s uncle, Pochimareddy Ravindranath Reddy. The trust set up a building for “annadanam” activities and installed statues and photographs of family members. However, the service activities were soon discontinued, leaving the building unused.
At present, thousands of patients visit RIMS daily, but attendants struggle without basic shelter facilities. Meanwhile, the unused building capable of accommodating nearly 100 patients remains locked for years, drawing criticism. There are growing demands to utilize the facility for patient care, while delays in government action have raised concerns.
