Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to introduce a unified pass for Metro Rail and RTC bus travel in Hyderabad at the earliest. He suggested issuing both monthly and daily passes to make public transport more convenient for commuters. During a coordination meeting at Metro Rail Bhavan in Rasoolpura, officials from HMRL, RTC, the Electricity Department and Hyderabad Metro Water Works discussed the proposal and said they were technically ready to implement the unified pass.
Jaju also reviewed the progress of various Metro Rail projects, including the expansion of the Old City Metro corridor and other major infrastructure works. He inspected the proposed elevated corridors and reviewed issues related to land acquisition, defence land and permissions for a tunnel near Begumpet airport. He directed all departments and agencies to work in coordination, resolve field-level issues quickly and complete the key projects within the stipulated timelines.
