Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has said the state government is working to establish Hyderabad not only as a leading destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), but also as a global confidence centre that develops solutions to complex, real-world challenges. He made these remarks while inaugurating the development centre of Dutch fintech major Backbase in HITEC City on Friday. Spread across 30,000 square feet, the facility reflects the growing interest of global technology and financial services companies in Hyderabad.
The minister said the government is developing a comprehensive ecosystem to attract global companies by strengthening advanced digital infrastructure and preparing young people for emerging technology careers. Key areas include digital banking solutions, software engineering, product development, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics and cybersecurity. He added that Backbase’s new centre will contribute to next-generation digital banking solutions and software products for banks and financial institutions worldwide. The facility is expected to create 300 jobs for highly skilled professionals. Netherlands Deputy Consul General Jan Kremers, Backbase CTO Greg Fahey, Chief of Staff Reinhard Scheel and India Site Head Surabhi Sharma were among those who attended the inauguration.
