Hyderabad: She Teams Crack Down on Eve-Teasers During Ganesh Festivities

She Teams stepped up surveillance against eve-teasing and harassment during the Ganesh festivities in Hyderabad. As part of a special drive conducted from September 14 to 23, police detained 1,530 people accused of eve-teasing. She Teams maintained a close watch at crowded locations and along major Ganesh immersion routes to ensure the safety of women and young girls.

Personnel deployed in plain clothes monitored areas including Khairatabad, Balapur and various immersion routes to identify those engaging in harassment. Police said the special drive was aimed at preventing incidents of harassment during the festivities and ensuring a safe environment for women. They also warned that strict action would be taken against those found behaving inappropriately.
