Authorities in Hyderabad have decided to undertake a comprehensive study of the JNTU–Miyapur–Raidurg corridor to identify and address major traffic congestion points. The busy stretch has been facing increased traffic pressure, particularly around the Raidurg Metro Station, where a sudden reduction in road width has been identified as one of the factors contributing to congestion.
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, TGSRTC and Cyberabad Traffic Police will jointly identify key bottlenecks along the route. The study will examine missing footpath connections, illegal encroachments, pedestrian crossings and congestion around school zones. Proposed measures include creating continuous pedestrian pathways, dedicated pickup and drop-off bays, regulated auto stands and school drop-off zones away from the main carriageway to improve traffic movement and pedestrian safety.
