Telangana police have reportedly made a significant breakthrough in the murder of Tanuja, wife of retired Director General of Police Vinay Ranjan Ray, in Hyderabad. According to the report, four suspects, including Kalpana, a domestic worker at the victim’s residence, have been arrested after an investigation lasting around six months. The case attracted considerable attention because the crime occurred in the upscale Prashasan Nagar area of Jubilee Hills.
Tanuja was reportedly murdered at her home on May 8, when other family members were away. Investigators suspect that the domestic worker and her associates planned the crime and fled with gold jewellery and other valuables after the killing. Police teams reportedly traced and detained four suspects using technical evidence and information about their movements across state and international borders. Three other suspects are still being sought, with special teams said to be searching in Nepal. The arrested suspects are being brought to Hyderabad for questioning. Investigators are also working to recover the stolen jewellery and establish whether anyone else was involved. The allegations and details remain subject to the ongoing police investigation.
