The Iran war, which began in late February, continues even after nearly four months and is causing a significant financial burden on the United States. US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth revealed that America has spent around $37.5 billion on the ongoing military operations against Iran.
Speaking before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hegseth said additional funds are urgently needed to continue the operations. The US government, with Republican support, is seeking approval for a $67 billion additional funding package. Meanwhile, Democratic members questioned the government over the war strategy, rising expenses, and the lack of a clear plan to end the conflict. Hegseth defended the operations, stating that threats from Iran to the US and its allies continue.
