Reports suggest that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, is planning to expand its political base beyond Tamil Nadu. Political circles indicate that the party is focusing on strengthening its presence in southern states, including Karnataka.
According to sources, TVK is considering contesting in Bengaluru local body elections by fielding candidates in around 50 wards to test its strength. If successful, the party may later explore participation in Karnataka Assembly elections. However, analysts note that established parties like Congress, BJP, and JD(S) already have a strong presence, and TVK’s initial impact may remain limited to select wards, especially among Tamil-speaking voters in Bengaluru.
