Heavy traffic congestion has been reported at Choutuppal on the Vijayawada–Hyderabad highway as people who travelled to their hometowns for the Dasara holidays return to Hyderabad. A long queue of vehicles has formed on the service road alongside the highway, causing delays for commuters. The large number of returning vehicles has put additional pressure on the road network in the town.
The ongoing flyover construction at Choutuppal has resulted in vehicles being diverted onto the service road. However, the narrow road is unable to accommodate the heavy volume of traffic, forcing vehicles to move slowly. Police personnel have reached the spot and are working to regulate traffic and ease congestion. Commuters travelling along the route are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
