Heavy Rains Lash Several States Across India

Heavy rains are lashing several parts of the country, disrupting normal life and triggering flooding and landslides in some areas. In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, incessant rainfall has continued for nearly 24 hours, leading to flooding in several parts of the state. The persistent downpour has raised concerns over road connectivity and movement in affected areas.

Jammu and Kashmir’s Bhaderwah has also witnessed heavy rain accompanied by hailstorms. Sudden rainfall triggered landslides along the Srinagar-Leh highway, affecting traffic movement. Meanwhile, Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh has received heavy rainfall, bringing normal life to a standstill in several areas. The India Meteorological Department has previously warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall in the western Himalayan region can lead to landslides, rockfalls and disruption of roads and highways.
